Here's a fitting analogy.
When the crew on the Titanic saw the iceberg come into view, they course-corrected as fast as they could, and if you were watching from the deck, it would’ve looked like they adjusted in time and didn’t strike the iceberg. But as we all know, the Titanic sank. The hidden portion of the iceberg, the larger more prominent part, gouged the side of the ship underneath the water. It was not in sight.
This same principal explains why so many salon businesses are sinking regardless of their diligence to often misguided marketing and offers. They’re focused on what is above the waterline, when if they simply shifted their focus to what’s below the waterline, they’d likely not only save their ship but would go on to creating consistent growth and profit in their business for years to come.
The “below the line”, the foundations are the life source of your salon business. Neglect them, and you will always be scrambling to come up with more attention-getting promotions to attract new customers, who likely won’t stay for long anyhow. "Above the line" marketing in the void of the below the line foundations is not only impossible to sustain, it’s not the true definition of building a business. You’re not really building anything because you are not creating a framework for retention and growth. Put the time and effort into mastering the foundations of business below the surface, and you’ll create a business that floats confidently even when there is no crazy promotion scheduled.

Your clients will choose you based on who you are, what you stand for, what you do well, the products and modalities you choose to do them with, who your team are and what makes you unique compared to alternatives. Without your clarity around this, your messaging, your modus operandi and the day-to-day running of your business will always be in a state of flux and confusion. This is largely as a result of the changing needs of clients and what they expect from the companies they do business with. In order to meet the needs of these clients, your team needs to have the consistent leadership that inspires and motivates them to meet the needs of the 21st century client whilst supporting them promote your business’ vision and identity. The reason for this is because our industry is all about the long game. But clients aren’t often aware that they are embarking on a journey rather than a quick fix. Results must be the central focus, but results in this industry generally only come from longer-term commitments to skin health. Everything in your business needs to centre on building lifetime relationships with clients.
Team Management

The idea is not for YOU to make the money in the business, it is for your team to make real, substantial money in the way that you envision the money being made. There is an old way of leading which focuses on increased output and strict protocols. But true amplified revenue comes when leadership understands how to hold your team accountable while simultaneously providing support when those expectations are not being met. There is an effective way to develop expectations, deliver them and hold your team to them while maintaining an environment that is healthy and profitable to work in. When you develop your team correctly, you improve the health of the overall business and money flourishes on every level.
Marketing

Marketing is NOT about creating continuous crazy offers to lure anyone and everyone through your doors. Anybody is not good enough. Excessive discounted offers attract people who like 'sales', not people who are the right fit for a long-term relationship with your business. The goal should be on attracting, nurturing and retaining the RIGHT clients, the kind of clients who want and need “your product.” There is an effective way to plan and execute promotions to foster relationships with these types of clients. Similarly, your website and social media strategy must align with this plan.
All of this however is above the line work, meaning it’s fairly useless if you haven’t spent the time developing the foundation that is below the line. Your marketing can only be truly effective if your foundations are rock solid.

Knowing how to perform a skin consultation, upselling, cross selling, rebooking, recalling, selling courses of treatments and planning out client visits is critical to the success of your therapists’ performance levels. Monthly Focus and Group Coaching Calls
Within the first 6 months of membership, there will be two separate concentrated, hands-on trainings. The first is FOUNDATIONS for the salon owners which runs for 12 weeks and the second is HIGH PERFORMANCE THERAPIST ACADEMY for the therapists which runs on for 6 weeks. During these periods, the student will be taken through the comprehensive portal of course content AND meet with Brigitte weekly in live Zoom sessions.

Coaching Portal with Programme Modules
Upon joining, you will be provided with your login details to access the Momentum portal. There you will find the content of the two programmes, as well as many additional courses and tools. Content includes videos, templates, exercises, protocols and other related handouts. One of the best bonuses of our courses is that full transcripts of every video are provided and serve as a coaching workbook for all members and their teams.

Monthly ‘Competition-Free’ Q+A Coaching Calls
Every member is split into 3 groups (Alpha, Beta or Gamma). This guarantees that none of their competition (ie. other salons in their vicinity) will be privy to their questions or conversations going on in the group. This means everyone is able to speak freely and honestly without the fear of their competition knowing what they’re doing. The session is recorded and uploaded in either the Alpha, Beta or Gamma portal.
