I was just like many of you. Overworked. Exhausted. Trapped in a cycle that left me questioning if the success I had was worth the cost.

THE MOMENT THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING
It was 1995. I was recently divorced with a five-year-old son. One day, while taking time off work, I heard a loud bang. My son had fallen down the stairs. My

heart stopped as I rushed toward him. But before I could scoop him up, he lifted his tiny hand, palm facing me, and said, "No." Instead, he turned and wrapped his arms around the nanny’s leg. 🔪🫀

It hit me like a freight train. In that moment, I realized my son no longer saw me as his source of comfort. Someone else had taken my place. And it wasn’t his fault or theirs—it was mine.

I had spent years building a successful corporate career, achieving things I once thought mattered. But in that instant, none of it felt like success.

I knew then: I couldn’t keep living this way.

Something had to change.

Discovering my True Calling

After resigning from my corporate position, there were three things I knew for sure:

I wanted control over my time. I needed the freedom to take my son to school in the morning and tuck him into bed at night. That meant I could never be an employee again—I had to create my own hours.
I was a proven strategist. In the advertising world, I had led countless successful campaigns that helped businesses make millions. I knew I had the skills to lead, mentor, and develop strategies that produced real results.
I loved the beauty industry. It was an incredibly profitable space, yet I could see it was largely underserved when it came to business strategy. Most salon owners were brilliant at their craft but lacked the tools to turn that talent into long-term success. Add that to my passion for skincare, that was an opportunity I couldn’t ignore.

When I put these three things together, the answer became clear: I needed to become a business coach for the beauty industry.

Doing my Due Diligence - the Right Way

With years of experience strategically building businesses in the advertising industry, I knew I couldn’t just coach salon owners from the sidelines—I needed firsthand experience running a salon myself.

I immersed myself in research. I mystery-shopped hundreds of salons, analyzed market trends, and studied skincare brands. I attended product schools, dissected the science of ingredients, and built a strategy based on what worked—not just what was popular.

The next logical step? Opening my own salon to apply everything I knew and prove that it's strategy that drives real, profitable results.

1996: The Birth of Me Skin and Body
- the Coaching Prototype

Like many salon owners, I started out offering everything—waxing, tanning, nails, facials, and massages. But it wasn't long until I realised that beauty services alone weren’t profitable. They were time-consuming, low cost to the client and capped by how many hours a therapist could physically work. Waxing, tanning, nails, and massage weren’t scalable, and retail opportunities were minimal.

I did the math and I truly realised just what a game-changer skin treatments really are.

✔ A 60-minute facial brought in double (or more) the revenue of a beauty treatment, in the same time.
✔ Skincare products that were continuously replaced as they run out, created repeat revenue and strong retention.
✔ Clients became long-term clients, as in years!

This shift changed everything. Over the next 14 years, I refined a business model that allowed me to step back from day-to-day operations while my salon ran profitably without me.

Selling my Salon, (turned Skin Clinic) and Building a Legacy

In 2010, I sold Me Skin & Body for an incredible final paycheck and stepped fully into coaching. My first workshop had just five salon owners. Within a year, I was speaking to hundreds across Australia and New Zealand.

Now, I help salon, skin clinic, and Medspa owners build businesses that:

✔ Generate high profits without depending on them working every treatment.
✔ Focus on skin services that bring scalability and financial freedom.
✔ Move beyond the day-to-day grind and into strategic growth.

AAAAAAND......MY BUSINESS IS MY LEGACY

I have spent the past 15 years coaching salon owners, not just to make more money—but to create businesses that give them freedom.

Then, life threw me another challenge.

In late 2023, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. And while it changed my perspective in many ways, it did not change my strength or determination. If anything, it sharpened my focus.

Time is precious. I don’t waste it, and I don’t let my clients waste theirs either.

That’s why my coaching is no-fluff, no-filler, and straight to the strategies that actually work. I don’t believe in trial and error when I already know what moves the needle. My mission is to help as many salon owners as possible build businesses that thrive—without burnout, without struggle, and without regret.

Because at the end of the day, this is my legacy. And I intend to make it count.

PS. My treatment is going really well. Shrunk tumours and no further spread 🙌
